RAW: Well, I listen mostly in the car, and I just bought a new Tundra, and it happens to have a factory 6 disc changer in it. |

RAW: Right now, I have the new YES-Magnification, RUSH-Hold Your Fire, PINK FLOYD- Momentry Lapse of Reason, RED RIDER - Neruda, STARCASTLE-Fountains of Light, and PAUL McCARTNEY & WINGS-Venus & Mars. You know, now that I look at it, it's something from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's. |

Hey gang, I've always had an open mind to all kinds of music, but the music that always interested me more than any other, was the music that was difficult to play. As a musician I always could appreaciate musicians that had more classical training. Thus I am drawn towards progressive bands with great writing and generally stuff that ignites the emotions, gives you goosebumps, and makes you say "WoW"! |

AM: Robert, how do you feel about all the recent piracy of songs on the internet, and the lawsuits of record companys? RAW: The record company's have to protect their profits, now that record sales are down. But I think they are blaming it on piracy rather than the sheer fact that they are just putting out alot of crap that nobodys buying. The music industry has changed so much that it's more like the suits at the record companys putting together groups and writing songs rather than the true artist writing songs anymore, it's just what looks good on video and a quaint 3 min song on the radio. Do you think Led Zepplin could get Stairway to Heaven on the radio today? AM: I see your point, but what about all the music sharing? RAW: I really don't mind all the music sharing, my stuff is out there and the more people download it the better as far as I'm concerned. Plus the record company's havent been all to kind to me in the last 10 years. But the guys downloading 1000's of songs is a little overboard, I could see them going after those guys. But personally I don't get too afraid of corporate attorneys when I occasionally download and old Who song or even a Zepplin tune that I havent heard on the radio in awhile. AM: Sounds like you're a brave guy RAW: Well, It's a brave new world, musically speaking, isn't it? AM: (laughing) Yea I guess it is, Thanks Robert -------Jan Easton |
